Poised is an early-stage startup on a mission to improve spoken communication in our remote working world. We are building an AI-powered communication coach and platform that can provide real-time and post meeting feedback. In the process we hope to democratize the language for career mobility, improve diversity and inclusion, and bring more understanding and compassion to professionals.

Work Experience

• Knowledge of AI and ML concepts and algorithms.
• Completion of a Computer Science degree, coding bootcamp, or equivalent technical experience.
• Skilled at communicating technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
• Experience coding with Python, JavaScript and/or Typescript, with at least one solo ML-related project on GitHub that you can share written in one of these languages.
• Data analysis and data visualization skills.
• Previous academic research or work experience using quantitative methods to solve research or business problems using data.
  • Academic examples: degree + research experience in one of the following fields: engineering, computer science, the natural sciences, psychology, sociology, paleontology, economics, linguistics, management science, or another data-driven discipline. Professional examples: machine learning, data science, business intelligence, analytics consulting, logistics analytics, text/image/audio data projects, or other data-driven professional experience.
• Familiarity with version control tooling (i.e. git), technical documentation, and testing.
• Bonus points for previous startup experience.

What You Will Do

• Work with speech, text and/or image data to train, test and deploy machine learning models.
• Design annotation tasks, annotation schema, and annotation quality assurance workflows to create the datasets needed for training, testing and deploying ML models.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to contribute to end-to-end ML product deployments.
• Monitor and improve performance of ML models deployed to production.
• Research the viability, applicability, and licensing of open-source machine learning models for a variety of Natural Language Processing and/or Computer Vision tasks. Then, integrate, fine tune and/or retrain these models for the purpose of Poised feature development.
